Windows Product Key — Key Finder
Posted on March 4, 2011
It wasn’t that long ago that my hard drive crashed and I had to reload the software, but I couldn’t find my MS Windows Product Key. Fortunately, I found a free online keyfinder. The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder (MJBK) was free to download/use and it did the trick. Not only was I able to find the keys to my software, but I was able to print off the keys for future use.
The MJBK also finds Adobe, Windows 7 and Office 2010, and other keys, but that version is not free. It costs $24.95.
It happened to me one other time after that, but I did not have access to the Internet to download MJBK. I called Microsoft, and they assigned me a new key over-the-phone for a minimal fee of $9.95 — much cheaper than paying for the software package all over again.
Anybody else use other options that worked?

Magical Jelly Bean is a fantastic tool and I use it all the time to recover my clients lost software keys. Good job doing the research before wiping out your harddrive!

That’s so cool that an IT company like yours even uses this tool. So glad to know that.
