Genuine Jobs —

I have to share a kind of secret that I’ve used for the past 3-1/2 years to find new job openings. If you’re like me, you diversify and juggle several jobs at a time. I have a few ongoing gigs that pay the bills and continue to look for higher paying gigs.

The most valuable source I’ve used is the website. The website pulls from several sources and gives you a one stop shop for looking for current job openings for writers, editors, project managers, web developers and others. I like it, because of all the freelance writing jobs I’ve been awarded, the highest paying ones came from subscribing to the email distribution.

You pay nothing and you get a bi-weekly (twice weekly) publication that provides current freelance writer jobs.

It’s a win-win all around. The URL to the list of jobs on Genuine Jobs is —

There are two things to keep in mind when subscribing to

  1. Apply to any jobs you are interested in right away. These companies receive so many responses that the first ones they receive typically get the most attention.
  2. Some of the jobs are short-term and others are long-term, but most of them are not hiring on an ongoing basis. They are typically looking for a writer at the time of the ad, and that is it.
