If you’re looking for a publishing company that accepts manuscripts all year long, then Nimrod is one you should consider.  Not to mention an award of up to $2,000 if your manuscript is selected.

Nimrod International Journal of Prose and Poetry is the brain-child of the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s mission is to discover new and emerging writers.

Nimrod International accepts general admission manuscripts and sponsors two annual writing contest — the Nimrod Literary Awards Competitions. Below are some of the specifics:

General Admission

  • Manuscripts accepted January 1 through November 30
  • Must be unpublished
  • Fiction, creative nonfiction or poetry accepted
  • Turnaround is 1 to 3 months

Nimrod Contests

  • Manuscripts accepted January 1 through April 30
  • $20 fee required with submission
  • Contest awards up to $2,000
  • Winners are brought to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Nimrod Annual Conference for Readers and Writers

Poem submissions must be 3 to 10 pages of poetry and be either one long poem or several short ones (a collection).  For fiction or creative nonfiction, you must submit a maximum of 7,500 words.
